A 'VIOLENT' drug dealer from Northwich has been jailed after detectives staked him out for months.

Officer had to use pepper spray on Ryan Moss, of Waterbank Row, when he was arrested in a dawn raid at an address five miles from his home.

He has been dealing cocaine and ketamine in the town since at least June, when police officers began a surveillance campaign follow a tip-off from local residents.

Cheshire Police detectives monitored Moss’ activities over four months, building up enough evidence against him to get a warrant to search his home.

Police raided his house in the early hours of Wednesday, September 6, but he wasn’t home.

Officers moved their search to an address on Boundary Lane North, Cuddington, where they caught him leaving at 7am.

The 34-year-old violently resisted arrest, but was quickly brought under control by officers using pepper spray.

Searching him, officers found a Kinder egg capsule which contained cocaine and ketamine worth £225, and several mobile phones were seized.

The 34-year-old appeared at Chester Crown Court for sentencing on Thursday, October, where he was jailed for three years.

He had pleaded guilty at an earlier hearing to being concerned in the supply of cocaine and ketamine between June 21 and September 6.

He'd also pleaded guilty to possession of cocaine with intent to supply, and resisting arrest.

An Audi, a Hugo Boss watch, and a pair Moncler trainers were also seized from Moss’ home under the Proceeds of Crime Act.

After the sentencing, DC Claire Heatley, of Northwich Proactive Policing Team, said: “This is a fantastic result, and it truly shows the value of information from the local community.

“During his interview, Moss refused to answer any questions in relation to supplying drugs, but thanks to information provided to us and the evidence we secured against him, he had no option but to plead guilty to all the charges against him.

“As well as bringing Moss to justice, we hope this sentence acts as a warning to others planning to deal drugs in the Northwich area.

“We’re committed to doing all we can to make Cheshire a hostile place for criminals and information from the public is vital in our ongoing fight against illegal drugs.

“You can report suspected drug dealing to us online at cheshire.police.uk/ro/report , or by calling 101.”
