A WOMAN from Davenham was run over by her ex-partner after an argument over their kids.

She and ex Scott Purslow had been rowing over access to the two children they share when he dropped off one of their kids on Sunday November 6, 2022.

But as the woman, made her way back to her house, Purslow drove off, hitting her with his 4x4 car.

She lost her balance, but was otherwise uninjured and, thinking it was a deliberate act, reported the incident to police.

Purslow, of Trouthall Lane, Plumley, appeared at Warrington Magistrates Court for sentencing on Monday, October 2, after being found guilty of one count of assault by beating after a trial on August 7.

The 35-year-old had faced a charge of careless driving, but this was later dropped by the Crown Prosecution Service.

Though he denied any wrongdoing, magistrates disagreed, and found his driving had been reckless, and was likely to have cause fear.

Purslow was fined £1,730 and ordered to pay Ms Beaumont £150 compensation.

He was also ordered to pay court costs of £640, and a victim surcharge of £692.

Magistrates also issued a restraining order, banning him from entering a specified road.

He also has previous convictions for battery in 2018, and drink driving in 2021.
