A BROKEN down lorry has caused "severe" delays on the M6 motorway.
National Highways is reporting delays of up to 45 minutes on the southbound carriageway.
This comes after a lorry broke down, causing two lanes to be closed.
The closure is in place between J17 (Sandbach) and J16 (Stoke-on-Trent).
Traffic officers are at the scene and recovery agents are en route.
The AA is reporting "severe delays of 44 minutes and increasing" with an average speed of 10mph.
