MOTORISTS are being warned of "severe" delays on the motorway this afternoon rush hour, Wednesday.
This is due to a crash on the northbound carriageway of the M6 at Thelwall Viaduct.
One lane is currently closed following the accident between junction 21 for the A57 Manchester Road at Woolston and junction 20 for the M56 at Lymm Interchange.
Queueing traffic is building, with drivers urged to allow extra time for journeys through the area.
According to the AA there are "severe" delays of 17 minutes.
Traffic is reported to be slow as far back as junction 19.
