A WOODLAND adventure theme park just along the A49 has won an award for its Christmas attraction.

BeWILDerwood Presents Christmas – A Sparkly Light and Panto Trail was a huge success at the site near Whitchurch and Tarporley last year and has scooped a silver award for Best New Event at the UK Theme Park and Attractions Awards.

The glittering event allows visitors to enter the park after dark and venture along a sparkly light trail, spotting characters along the way.

As well as silly snowmen, Christmas crackers and a giant Christmas pudding there’s also a mini BeWILDermas Pantomime full of festive cheer and fun for the whole family.

BeWILDerwood is a huge woodland adventure full of family entertainment and outdoor activities based on the magical and enchanting books by author and creator Tom Blofeld.

He said: “When we created BeWILDerwood Presents Christmas, we knew we had something special.

“It was different to other Christmas events – not only does the event have all the usual Christmas cheer, but it also has the magic of BeWILDerwood too.

“The feedback we got last year was fantastic, so this award really confirms how magical the event is and we’re absolutely thrilled!”

He added: “We’re so excited to bring the event back again for the second year and we’re working on a few new surprises too.

“We put tickets on sale a lot earlier this year and we’ve been amazed by the demand already.

“It seems people really are so excited for Christmas at BeWILDerwood.”

Tickets for BeWILDerwood’s spooky Halloween specials were recently released.

Anyone who purchases tickets to BeWILDerwood’s Glorious Glowing Lantern Parade will receive a special code for 50 per cent off daytime tickets between October 21 and October 31.

A spokesperson for BeWILDerwood said: “Discover curious characters, spot peculiar pumpkins, marvel at magical lights, make jokes with the BeWILDerbats and lots more.

“But don’t fret; it’s spooky, not scary!”
