HOME Bargains is gearing up to open a new store in Cheshire.

The discount retailer will soon be opening its first-ever shop in Middlewich.

Around £2 million has been invested into the store, which will launch this weekend.

The new manager of the Middlewich branch, Gemma Wynn, said: “I'm so excited to be a part of the very first Home Bargains opening in Middlewich.

“I've got an amazing team, and we can't wait to show what we have to offer.”

She added: “Middlewich will be a great location for us, and we’re proud to be able to offer local people top-branded goods at exceptionally low prices.”

The Middlewich Home Bargains will officially open at 8am on Saturday (September 16), joining the brands 600-plus other outlets across the UK.

It takes over the unit previously home to Jack’s at The Poplars on Southway, off Wheelock Street.

Jack’s, a discount brand launched by Tesco in 2018, shut down in 2022.

Since then, Home Bargains has invested approximately £2 million into the 16,210sqft store, which will create 58 new jobs for the local community.

In total, it will employ 52 team members and six management members, all of whom are new hires.

which will stock a range of products, including homewares, health and beauty essentials, sweets, snacks, and drinks as well as fresh and frozen food.

The Middlewich branch will also be host to a Home Bargains Garden Centre.

To celebrate the opening, Home Bargains will be donating £2,000 to Middlewich and District Foodbank.

The charity, part of a nationwide network of foodbanks supported by The Trussell Trust, provides seven days’ nutritionally balanced emergency food and support to local people in crisis who are referred to the foodbank.
