HOME Bargains is opening a new shop in Cheshire.

The Middlewich branch of the discount retailer will be opening in a matter of weeks.

However, there has been some confusion as to what date exactly it will be opening.

While signs on the door of the new shop state it is due to open on September 16, the Home Bargains website has been updated to say that the store will launch on September 23 instead.

However, a spokesperson for the chain has now confirmed that it will in fact be opening on September 16, as originally reported.

“Home Bargains is delighted to be opening our first store in the Middlewich area on September 16, 2023,” they added.

“Our valued customers can expect a full range of household products, toiletries, groceries, and a wide selection of chilled and frozen foods.

“We can't wait to open our doors and show our loyal customers and new shoppers what we have in store, and we're confident our new Middlewich store will be a huge success."

Middlewich Home Bargains will open on the site of the former Jack’s store, off Wheelock Street.

Jack’s, a discount brand launched by Tesco in 2018, shut in 2022.

Since then, a complete refurbishment of the 16,000 sq ft unit has taken place after Home Bargains was given the green light by Cheshire East Council earlier this year.
