Rebecca's salon The Beauty Spot in Wincham

Rebecca Collins has been in the beauty business since 2001 based in Valentine’s Hair and Beauty in Northwich town centre and more recently from her home salon in Wincham.

The Beauty Spot is a vegan, cruelty free and eco conscious salon using all UK-based brands.

Rebecca, who grew up in Barnton, said: “I do all types of beauty treatments as well as nails, lashes and makeup.

“I also do event hair and makeup and skincare classes.

“I’ve always been self-employed as I like to be my own boss.

“I am driven, creative and passionate about what I do and I like to have creative control in my work.

“I do enjoy working with other girl bosses and I often tag team other salons so we can pass work to each other and help each other out on bigger bookings such as weddings.”

Rebecca has learnt how to run her own business through personal experience, not all of it good, but she has made huge strides over the past two decades.

Rebecca, who is 39, said: “Everything is a learning curve and it has made me the success I am today.

“I studied for a degree in fashion design more than ten years ago and I use the marketing and design skills I learnt then with my social media and my other business The Beauty Box UK.

“I am passionate about what I do - I love to make people happy and feel good about themselves.

“In a negative world full of unattainable filtered images on social media, I try to promote real self love and acceptance in ourselves.

“I want to pass that self love on to those around me.

“Positive thoughts and compliments go a long way.”

So what do customers think about The Beauty Spot? Why did they want the business to win our latest title?

One customer said: “The Beauty Spot is the best as far as I am concerned.

“Rebecca listens to what her clients want as well as offering advice.

“Her loyal clients keep returning over and over again.”

Vibrant colours for summer nails are hugely popular as well as eyelash extensions and Rebecca is doing liquid fat dissolve wraps, helping people get bikini ready.

Rebecca was ecstatic to hear she’d made the shortlist for Best for Beauty again this year and was “shocked and over the moon” to secure a second title in a row.

She said: “It was just the good news I needed to hear after having a tough few months.

“My clients have been incredibly supportive and I feel so grateful to them all.

“They have kept me going as much as I have kept them feeling fabulous.

“Seeing my clients smile brings me so much joy - they have been my medicine and soul over the last few months.

“I don’t think they all realise how much they have helped me emotionally and mentally.

“Their support and loyalty means the world to me.”
