TWO predators have been jailed after raping a woman and filming the attack during a night of 'sustained sexual abuse'.

Abu Musa and Abdulrahman Hassan met their victim, who was on a night out, at a takeaway in Nantwich during the early hours of June 12, 2022.

The pair offered her and a friend a lift home to Winsford and after returning, the second woman left an went to bed.

Musa and Hassan stayed with their victim, who was already drunk, and plied her with more alcohol before raping and sexually assaulting her.

An investigation was launched by Cheshire Police into the attack, leading to the arrest of the two men.

During their inquiries, officers discovered video footage on Musa’s phone showing Hassan raping the victim.

After being shown the footage, Hassan admitted the offences, however Musa continued to deny rape.

The 21-year-old, of Dyke Street, Stoke-on-Trent, had admitted a charge of voyeurism, before being found guilty of rape and assault by penetration at a four-day trial, which concluded on April 14.

Hassan, aged 22, of Eden Street, Oldham, had previously pleaded guilty to two counts of rape, assault by penetration and voyeurism.

The pair returned to Chester Crown Court on Friday where they were jailed for more than 25 years.

Musa, who was also handed a 20-year Sexual Harm Prevention Order (SHPO), was jailed for 13 years.

Hassan was sentenced to 12 years and nine months in prison and also given a 20-year SHPO.

Following the sentencing Detective Constable Kelly Mitchell, of Northwich CID, said: "I would like to commend the victim for the courage and bravery that she has shown throughout this investigation.

"While she will never be able to forget what happened that night, I hope the sentences handed out will provide some closure.

"Musa and Hassan are both sexual predators, they took advantage of the victim in her own home and what they subjected her to was nothing short of sickening.

"They were both aware that she was heavily intoxicated, and they both knew that she could not consent. Despite this knowledge, they both chose to rape and sexually assault her multiple times.

"Not only that, but they also filmed much of the attack for their own sexual gratification.

"Thankfully they are both now behind bars facing the consequences of their actions."

Detective Inspector Ross Hamilton, of Northwich CID, added: "This was a challenging investigation, and I would like to commend DC Mitchell for her dedication and commitment throughout the case. I would also like to thank all the other officers involved in the investigation.

"Nobody should have to experience what the victim has been through and if anything can come from this case, I hope it encourages other victims of sexual offences to come forward and report them to us.

"Cheshire Police takes any allegation of sexual offences extremely seriously, and any allegation will be thoroughly investigated, with the wishes and needs of the victim as our main priority.

"Victims should never feel ashamed to talk about what they have been subjected to.

"They will receive the help and support they need from our specialist officers, as well as from other support agencies we work alongside, and all victims of sexual offences have the right to anonymity."

District Crown prosecutor Brian Forshaw, from CPS Mersey-Cheshire, said: "This was an appalling pre-mediated attack on a young woman by Musa and Hassan.

"They knew the victim did not consent, nor could she consent, as they plied her with alcohol and forced her to suffer an evening of sustained sexual abuse.

"Their calculated actions and utter disregard for their victim have left her life completely changed, as she now suffers anxiety and is afraid to leave her house.

"I’d like to thank the victim for her bravery in reporting Musa and Hassan and providing crucial evidence which led to their convictions and being sentenced today.

"I hope she can take some comfort from the custodial sentences of 13 years for Musa and 12 years and nine months for Hassan.

"The CPS takes rape and sexual offences seriously and will always prosecute whenever our legal test is met.

"Ensuring the victim’s safety is paramount, and we can apply for special measures to be used during the court proceedings."
