A NEW luxury deli selling exotic cheeses, including a unique Sunday roast-flavoured cheddar, is coming to Northwich high street.

King’s Delicatessen is the latest offering from foodie couple Molly Wilson and Daniel Turner, the brains behind the posh cheese hamper ‘takeaway’ and catering business, King’s Cheese and Wine, featured in Cheshire Life magazine in November 2022.

Opening in Witton Street at the beginning of June, Molly and Daniel are going for a ‘mini-farm shop’ model, selling a host of local craft and artisan foods including cheeses from Lymn Bank Farm, The Cheshire Cheese Company, Chuckling Cheese, and Mrs Bourne’s Cheshire Cheese.

Customers will be able to buy quality fresh bread, chutneys, jams, biscuits, spices, and yummy treats from Buns Out Baking, a range of locally sourced dairy products, and top-quality local honey for Davenham beekeepers, Apiary and Me.

Molly, who moved to Northwich five years ago from Wirral, said: “We’re both massive foodies and we love cooking. That’s where our passion comes from.

“We often have a cheese board at home for dinner, and we though it would be lovely if you could have that delivered to your house, like a takeaway. That’s where the original idea for King’s came from.”

“Now we’ve decided to focus our efforts on a shop, we want King’s Delicatessen to be a lovely destination that people really look forward to visiting, and where they can get all sort of top-quality local food and drink.

“We love experimenting with new flavours, so the Chuckling Cheese range with their rum and pineapple, limoncello, and pizza-flavoured cheeses is right up our street.

“Effectively, it’s going to be like a mini-farm shop, but in the town centre. That’s how we want it to look and feel.”

To begin with, the cheeses will be available in truckles, and charcuterie products will be pre-packaged, but Molly and Daniel plan to set up a full cheese and deli counter in the very near future.

They also plan to stock some of the fantastic wines and beers they sell through their cheese hamper takeaway business, once the shop is up and running.

The 28-year-old added: “We both love living in Northwich, and Witton Street such a beautiful place.

“Its already a great place to come and buy quality food, but if we can help turn the town into a bit of a foody destination, that’s going to be great for everyone.

"The Sunday roast cheddar isn't as mad as it sounds. It's flavoured with the herbs you'd expect to be in your Sunday lunch, and it's absolutely amazing."
