VOTERS in Winsford will be heading to the polls in less than a month, and all candidates standing for town council have been announced.

The public will be asked to choose who they want to represent them on Winsford Town Council, as well as Cheshire West and Chester Council, on Thursday, May 4.

There are 15 councillors on the town council, each representing voters in one of six wards: Dene; Gravel; Over; Swanlow; Verdin; and Wharton.

Polling stations will open at 7am and close at 10pm, and voters will be asked - for the first time in British history - to show photographic ID before they are allowed to cast their vote.
