A 21-YEAR-OLD who was recently placed on end-of-life care has been inundated with hundreds of messages from pubs wanting to help grant her wish of visiting as many pubs as she can to pull pints.

Caitlin Shaw has always wanted to be a barmaid and when mum Sam MacVicar posted on social media asking if people could help her tick off her bucket list, countless pubs and bar staff came forward – from Northwich all the way to Shrewsbury.

“We are very humbled as a family for everyone pulling together and showing their support to Caitlin, and willing her on to achieve everything she wants to achieve before she becomes too poorly,” Sam said.

She started a GoFundMe page for Caitlin to raise money and help grant her daughter’s last wishes.

Caitlin was born with a severe heart condition called aorta stenosis (heart valve disease) and regurgitation of the mitral valve and leaky valves, plus only one working lung.

She has been through multiple surgeries and developed other conditions, and now doctors have placed her on end-of-life care.

But that isn’t holding her back from doing everything she has always wanted to do, while she is well enough.

Sam said: “Caitlin first started her pulling pints mission at Rudheath Social Club with Julie Higgins on her 21st birthday.

“We are starting the main pulling pints mission on April 15 at The Clock Tower and Caitlin will be making her way down to The Salty Dog.”

The family is in talks with Coronation Street, where it is hoped Caitlin will pull her last pint before she moves on to complete the rest of her bucket list.

The family is keeping Caitlin’s GoFundMe page (gofundme.com/f/caitlins-wishes) open to help her continue ticking off her bucket list, such as visiting Blackpool to watch Shrek the Musical, as well as travelling to London, Ireland, Scotland and Wales.

Sam added: “On June 3, Caitlin will be being picked up and will be riding on the back of a trike; multiple motorbike clubs, veterans and civilians have joined together to join her on the day.

“We are working through the list of pubs and working out a plan of other dates to continue the pint pulling mission.

“We've been offered meals, t-shirts and Marston's has gone as far as offering Caitlin a night in one of their hotels.”
