DELAMERE Forest has been named as one of the UK’s most popular forests, according to figures based on the amount of monthly Google searches.

Delamere Forest – located near Northwich – is the largest woodland area in Cheshire, and is the perfect place to enjoy walks, tree-top adventures at the Go Ape adventure course, and cycling.

In a bid to inspire their customers to try out more off-road cycling, Jorvik Tricycles looked at Google search volumes for forests up and down the UK to determine which forest was the most popular.

Delamere came fourth is the list, with 38,000 monthly Google searches.

Jorvik Tricycles’ research saw New Forest, Hampshire take the top spot, with 102 average monthly Google searches, followed by Sherwood Forest, Nottingham (43,000 searches per month) and Epping Forest, Essex (38,000.)

Delamere offers a range of cycle routes that vary in length and difficulty; from smooth gravel paths to loose off-road trails, flat road routes to steep inclines.

Some of the most popular routes include the Whitefield Trail - seven miles, steep inclines, challenging; the Delamere Loop – 10 miles, mostly flat or The Beast – dedicated technical mountain trail.

Delamere is also home to Forest Holidays, a variety of events throughout the year for the whole family, plus a café.
