A ROAD in Anderton has been closed this afternoon, Tuesday, after a falling tree brought down power cables.
The tree fell due to high winds and was blocking Hough Lane, with the road being closed between New Road and Lydyett Lane.
The tree also brought down power lines and engineers were called out.
The road reopened at around 4.30pm.
Cheshire West and Chester Council previously tweeted: “High winds have caused a tree to fall, blocking the road and bringing down power cables at Hough Lane, Anderton.
“Scottish Power engineers are on their way and our highways team is assisting with traffic management. A diversion is in place.”
