A WINSFORD man harassed his ex-partner of 36 years after getting her new address from a pharmacy.

Barry Hook, of Well Street, pleaded guilty to harassment without violence at Warrington Magistrates' Court on Wednesday, November 30.

Prosecuting, Edward Rattigan told the court Hook’s partner had moved out of their home ‘to get away from him’ without provide a forwarding address.

But the 52-year-old dad managed to find her new address through a local chemist’s shop, on Friday, September 2.

He tried to gain entry to the property as part of a three-month period of harassment which included phone calls and social media messages.

Defending, Richard Sibeon explained how after his ex-partner ended their relationship, Hook felt entitled to an explanation.

In seeking this explanation, he accepted he had ‘crossed the threshold into harassment,’ which he regretted.

Mr Sibeon added although Hook has previous convictions for charges relating to excess alcohol, the last was back in 2011.

Hook was given conditional bail pending a pre-sentence report, and ordered not to contact his ex-partner, or go near her new home.

He will return to court for sentencing on Friday, December 30.
