THE third annual Pickmere Christmas Driveway Market is kicking off a month of festivities in the village this December.
On Sunday, December 4, stall holders will be spaced around Pickmere on their driveways – between 12pm and 4pm.
There are 20 stalls in total including, Christmas goods, mulled wine, antiques, cakes and cosmetics.
During the day there will be collections for Macmillan and all stall holders are invited to give an anonymous donation for taking part.
The Pickmere Community Group has also organised a ‘Giving Tree’ where residents can donate to presents which will be distributed to people in need by Age UK.
Presented can be dropped off at the Red Lion pub in the village.
The community group has also organised the annual visit from Father Christmas.
Santa travels round the village every year on his sleigh to wish everyone in Pickmere a Merry Christmas, with his elves collecting donations for a chosen charity.
At the end of Santa’s travels, residents meet by the Christmas tree in the middle of the village for carol singing with Mereside Brass, mulled wine and mince pies.
Youngsters can also make use of the Santa postbox this month.
Each child that sends a letter receives a small gift on Christmas Eve.
