IF you hate wrapping up your Christmas gifts, then Barons Quay and Card Factory has you covered with a charity gift wrapping service.

Northwich-based charities Making Space and Joshua Tree are hoping to raise money by wrapping the town’s Christmas gifts with festive paper, bows and ribbons provided free of charge by the Card Factory store in Barons Quay.

The charity gift wrapping station will be in the travellator hall in Barons Quay on Thursday, December 1, between 10am - 12pm, and on Thursday, December 8, between 12pm-2pm.

Volunteers from Making Space, which supports adults with care and support needs, and their carers to lead independent and fulfilling lives, and Joshua Tree that supports families with the life-changing experience of childhood cancers, are asking for a donation in return for each gift wrapped.

Diane Cross, store manager at Card Factory in Barons Quay said: “Christmas is a busy time for everyone and sometimes it's easy to forget that not everyone will be looking forward to the festivities.

“We are pleased to be supporting this initiative that will benefit two brilliant local causes.”

Lina Higuita, centre manager at Barons Quay said: “If you’re Christmas shopping with us over the next couple of weeks save yourself the stress of wrapping and hand over your presents at our wrapping station!

“You can grab a coffee or simply have a break whilst one of your festive chores is ticked off the list.

“I’d like to say a huge thank you to Card Factory for supporting this initiative and to the charity volunteers for giving their time to help.”

Bob Towers, fundraising manager from Making Space said: “We are really grateful to be given this opportunity to fundraise by Barons Quay.

“Our charity supports hundreds of unpaid carers throughout Cheshire and many of them are facing an extremely tough time this Christmas with rising energy costs and prices.

“All the money will go directly to providing front line support services for unpaid carers in Cheshire.

“Businesses and the public have been generous in supporting our work and this Christmas we are putting all our fundraising efforts under the banner of our Elf and Social Care campaign to support vulnerable people.”
