WHO doesn't love a full English?

Bacon, sausage, eggs, hash browns, beans and toast.

Do you add tomatoes? Or mushrooms?

Today is English Breakfast Day - a day dedicated to showcasing the country's long-standing tradition of starting your morning with a hearty meal.

The celebratory day takes place on December 2 every year and is a chance to support local farmers, butchers and chefs selling and serving local produce as well as introduce new fans to the English breakfast.

Earlier this year, as part of our search to find the best that Mid Cheshire has to offer in 20 different categories, we wanted to see where in the town serves the best breakfast.

Oakwood Marina in Northwich took top spot but seven other venues also made the shortlist.

Here is a rundown of the best six places to enjoy breakfast in the area - why not give one of them a try on English Breakfast Day?

OUR SIX BEST BREAKFAST FINALISTS:

Oakwood Marina, Northwich

Breakfast is cooked fresh order and served to tables with beautiful surroundings overlooking the marina.

One nomination said the food and views combine for a perfect eating experience.

It said: “Oakwood Marina cooks the best breakfast all day long and you can eat while overlooking the stunning views of the Trent and Mersey canal watching the boats go by.”
