A 30-YEAR-OLD man has been fined by the courts after using another person’s bank card to spend more than £2,000 on gambling websites.

Samuel Ford, of Verdin Close in Winsford, was charged with fraud by false representation.

He appeared in Chester Magistrates Court on November 21 where he pleaded guilty to the offence – on the day he was meant to stand trial.

The court heard on November 5 and 6, 2021, Ford used another person’s bank card without permission and spent £2,163 on gambling websites.

Taking his guilty plea into account, Ford was fined £623.

He will need to pay £300 in costs to the Crown Prosecution Service, plus a £62 surcharge.
