KIND-HEARTED pupils are giving people a helping held this winter.

Cloughwood Academy in Stones Manor Lane, Hartford, is holding warm hubs for over 55s in need of a safe, warm environment with a ‘friendly and inclusive welcome’.

The first warm hub took place on November 21 with soup and a sandwich.

Samantha Howarth, headteacher, said: “This was the first in a series of warm hubs being hosted by Cloughwood Academy.

“The pupils have worked on a number of community activities and this year we’re tackling loneliness in our community.

“Our academy is a warm, safe space for anyone who enjoys the company and energy of the younger generation.

“Food is prepared by the year 11s in our Vocational Village and the year eights have organised the entertainment.

“There are a number of events coming up.

“If you’d like to come along, please let us know. “

Transport also available.”

The next warm hub is on December 5 at 1.45pm for afternoon tea, then on December 8 at the same time for bingo.

December 12 at 1.45pm will see people served a Christmas dinner.
