GIANT lilies shining on the water, spectacular glittering reindeer and floating dandelions – you’ve never seen Christmas lights like this before.

Christmas at Dunham Massey transforms the historic National Trust venue into an oasis of magical lights choreographed to beautiful music.

The after-dark illuminated trail runs between November 18 and January 2, so you’ve got plenty of time to book your tickets.

We were lucky enough to get a glimpse of what is awaiting visitors – and wow, we’re definitely in the festive spirit now.

Northwich Guardian:

During wet weather you might want to take your boots or wellies, as the trail runs through Dunham Massey’s grounds - revealing new sights around every corner.

Curated light installations this year include larger-than-life lilies, a multi-coloured laser garden and Light a Wish by OGE Group - which resembles several heads of fluffy dandelions floating in the night sky.

Another new addition is the Gladioli Tunnel by UK-based arts collective Jigantics, which consists of lit arches of multicoloured flowers.

Northwich Guardian:

A stand-out moment for us was watching a water fountain display which, paired with rainbow lights, looks like fireworks dancing on the lake.

Disney’s Frozen fans might be able to recognise one of the tracks, while Christmas music lovers will be boogying along some classic festive hits.

The tunes really add to the atmosphere, bringing the energy up or down to reflect the installations you’re looking at.

Northwich Guardian:

Don’t forget to keep an eye out for Santa too; he’s made a special visit to greet youngsters in between his busy schedule.

Toilets and food and drink vendors are situated where the trail begins and ends, as well as a smaller selection half-way round (where you can toast your own marshmallows).

The main food and drink offering includes burgers, Greek favourites, pizza, hot dogs and churros.

Northwich Guardian:

There is plenty to wash it down with – mulled cider anyone?

While you’re treating yourself, there are fairground rides to keep little ones entertained.

Christmas at Dunham Massey is brought to you by Sony Music in partnership with the National Trust.

The trail is created by Culture Creative.
