A MIDDLEWICH man is among eight people charged with drugs offences following a series of raids across Cheshire and Merseyside.

On Thursday, November 10, officers from Cheshire conducted searches at 10 homes in Crewe, Sandbach and Merseyside.

Nine people were arrested in total and after being quizzed in custody, eight were charged with conspiracy to supply class A drugs such as cocaine and heroin.

The ninth person was released under investigation.

Among the eight charged was Shadat Kogolo, of Bembridge Drive, Middlewich.

He was remanded in custody to appear alongside his co-defendants at Chester Magistrates Court on November 11.

The case was then adjourned and sent to crown court for a plea and trial preparation hearing on December 9.

The other defendants include:

  • Merold Earl Stennett, aged 43, of Peter Place, Crewe
  • William Gooley, aged 38, of Hankey Drive, Bootle
  • Russel Schofield, aged 32, of Pelican Close, Crewe
  • Alexander Sinclaire, aged 26, of Hungerford Road, Crewe
  • Daley Smith, aged 33, of Summer Drive, Sandbach
  • William Sutherland, aged 61, of Edmonton Close, Liverpool
  • Andrew Williams, aged 38, Chirkdale Street, Liverpool

The charges relate to alleged county lines drug dealing between Cheshire and Merseyside.
