SEVERAL drivers in Northwich and Winsford have been banned from the roads this week after being caught over the limit for alcohol.

Deniz Remzi, from Northwich, and Christopher O'Donoghue and Andrew Houston, from Winsford, were all handed disqualifications when they appeared at Chester Magistrates Court on November 15.

Houston, of Caernarvon Avenue, was caught after driving along Caerleon Close in Winsford on November 13.

The 31-year-old also failed to stop after crashing into street furniture in the close.

A subsequent breath test revealed he had 84 micrograms of alcohol in 100 millilitres of his breath. The limit is 35.

He pleaded guilty to drink-driving and failing to stop after a road accident and was banned for 17 months.

Houston was also fined £500 and ordered to pay costs of £120 and a victim surcharge of £200.

Remzi, of Witton Street, was caught on October 31 when he was travelling along Chester Way in Northwich.

A breath test revealed the 24-year-old had 61 micrograms of alcohol in 100 millilitres of his breath.

Magistrates also banned Remzi, who pleaded guilty to the offence, for 17 months and fined him £120.

He was ordered to pay a further £120 in costs and a £48 surcharge.
