A NORTHWICH man must pay compensation to Sainsbury's after stealing booze and other items from the supermarket.
David Conneely, of London Road, first stole £60 worth of alcohol from the Venables Road store in Northwich on September 21.
The 40-year-old then returned to the supermarket on October 15 when he made of with various items of an unknown value.
Conneely was arrested and subsequently charged with two counts of theft.
He appeared at Chester Magistrates Court on November 15 where he pleaded guilty to both charges.
Taking his guilty plea into account, magistrates granted him a conditional discharge for two years.
The bench also ordered him to pay £60 in compensation to Sainsbury's.
No order was made for court costs as priority was given to the compensation.
