A TALENTED seven-year-old footballer on the radar of professional clubs has gained representative selection for a tournament in Barcelona next year.

Winsford High Street pupil Louie Blow has been playing the beautiful game at pre-academy level for the past 12 months.

He has been scouted by Liverpool, Manchester City, Manchester United, Crewe Alexandra, Stoke City and Aston villa.

Louie, a winger or midfielder with Winsford Town FC under sevens, is currently training with Manchester City at their academy at the Etihad Stadium, Stoke City and Crewe Alexandra – in total training and playing five times per week.

In September the Manchester City fan, whose hero is Belgian international Kevin De Bruyne, succeeded in a series of open trials in Skelmersdale to earn a place in the North West England squad for the Nations Cup tournament in Barcelona from April 28 to May 1, 2023, that will feature teams from across Europe.

His dad Anthony said football is Louie's life, although he also enjoys playing on the PlayStation with his older brother James, 12, and younger sister Chloe, 5.

"Louie loves football and has shown signs of having ability from a very young age," said Anthony.

"I used to run a toddler/infant football company and Louie was with me at every session, sometimes two sessions a day on weekends.

"He loved being around football and this has paid dividends for how well he has developed and continues to develop.

"Louie's mother Shelley and I are very proud of him and it gives us great pleasure to watch him play a sport he clearly loves."
