WALK-IN flu jabs are being offered in Northwich as a touring vaccination bus visits the town.

Well Pharmacy is bringing the flu-bus to the area this week in a bid to protect residents from the virus this winter.

Today and tomorrow, the bus will be at Barons Quay before it moves to Waitrose Northwich on Thursday, where it will remain until Saturday.

The flu bus is a fully functioning mobile health clinic. Two pharmacists will be available on site to administer flu jabs throughout the day.

They will also be offering other routine healthcare services, such as blood pressure checks.

There is no need to book online, visitors can simply walk-in.

The touring flu-bus follows on from the biggest NHS flu programme roll-out in history in 2021.

Last year, more than four in five (83.20 per cent) of people aged 65 and over in England received their flu vaccine.

People aged over 50 are now eligible for a free NHS flu vaccination and the team at Well Pharmacy is encouraging everyone to get vaccinated to stop the spread of flu and protect their community.

Ifti Khan, pharmacy superintendent from Well Pharmacy, said: “We are seeing a high demand for our flu vaccination service, and we opened our appointment bookings earlier this year to ensure people could get their vaccination appointments firmly in their diary.

"There are still plenty of appointments available, by booking online or using the walk-in service.

"We encourage people to get vaccinated as soon as they can to protect themselves and their loved ones.

"The very high level of flu cases in Australia, and the surge in Covid-19 is a good indicator on what the UK can expect, and I would urge everyone who can to protect themselves and others by getting vaccinated."

Well Pharmacy offers free flu jabs to those eligible on behalf of the NHS, for those who are not eligible for a free NHS flu jab Well offers the flu vaccination service for £15.
