A GROUP of youths aimed fireworks at firefighters while they were working.
Crews from Winsford Fire Station were called to an unattended bonfire on Esk Road at around 7pm tonight, Saturday.
But while they were tackling the fire with a horse reel water jet, a group of ‘young people’ aimed fireworks at them.
A Cheshire Fire and Rescue spokesperson said: “This is totally unacceptable and highly dangerous.”
Police were called to the scene as a result of the shocking incident.
Earlier on in the night at around 6pm, fire crews were called to an unattended and unsupervised bonfire on Leyland Walk.
Again, this was an unattended bonfire.
It consisted of waste, mattresses and a wheelie bin and one fire engine from Winsford attended.
