AN ‘exceptional’ guitarist who has successfully toured the world for more than 20 years is coming to Northwich’s Lion Salt Works.

Martin Harley will play a solo performance at the Salt Works Sessions on December 3.

Through his blues song writing style, Martin Harley explores the hopes and fears for fast-changing times.

Doors and the bar open at 7.15pm with music starting at 8pm.

Parking is free, tickets cost £16.00 and can be bought at danarts.org/events/martin-harley/

Harley has released eight albums to date, four recorded on home soil and four across the Atlantic in Texas and Nashville.

An album with Grammy-nominated Daniel Kimbro and Sam Lewis is due out before the end of the year.

His recent nominations include: AMA instrumentalist of the year, Best Acoustic Guitarist and Best Acoustic Blues artist.

Notable appearances include Glastonbury Acoustic and Avalon stages, Beautiful Days, Royal Albert Hall, Union Chapel, Bluebird Nashville and Tønder Festival.

Cheshire West and Chester Council’s director of environment and communities, Maria Byrne, said: “I’m delighted that Martin Harley will be performing a gig at the Lion Salt Works Museum.

“There is nothing like listening to a slide guitarist performing roots and blues at the ‘top of his game’ in an atmospheric setting such as the Lion Salt Works.

“This promises to be a magical night of live music, not to be missed.”

During the day on December 3 (11am – 5pm) the Lion Salt Works Museum will be staging a day of Christmas activities aimed to appeal to the whole family, including the chance to visit Father Christmas, listen to carol singing, watch Morris dancing and, for children, make festive craft items.

Most of the events are free-of-charge and do not require booking.
