NON-CONTACT boxing classes starting in Northwich this week can provide youngsters with a foundation for moving on to other sports.

That is the view of Coin Heath, founder and head of the UK’s first boxing play programme.

Boxingtots' non-contact classes are led by qualified coaches and are based around learning through play, and teach the 'FUNdamentals' of boxing.

Sessions at The Venue, Rudheath, are designed to be a fun and interactive play programme for children aged three to seven to help develop physical and social skills.

Heath said: “Our sessions are totally non-contact boxing classes and are specially designed to focus on co-ordination, social skills, self-confidence, teamwork, discipline and physical well being.

“We have integrated motor skill drills, boxing moves, educational activities and important life skills in a curriculum that gets the children excited, and eager to learn.

“It also serves as an ideal foundation for the children before moving into other individual or team sports.

“Since our launch in 2019 we now have 22 venues across the north west and the response to the programme has been extremely positive."
