THE night skies will soon be illuminated by festive after-dark lights trails, returning to nearby venues to get you in the Christmas spirit.
Christmas at Dunham Massey and Christmas at Delamere Forest boast a fantastic collection of curated installations from different artists, turning both settings into magical winter wonderlands.
The trail returns to Dunham Massey between November 18, 2022 and January 2, 2023.
Installations this year include larger-than-life lilies, a multi-coloured laser garden and Light a Wish by OGE Group, which resembles several heads of fluffy dandelions floating in the night sky.
The Gladioli Tunnel, by UK-based arts collective Jigantics, consists of lit arches of multicoloured flowers bathing visitors in a myriad of different lights
The trail is full of seasonal surprises and shimmering reflections that cast light on majestic trees, all choreographed to a soundtrack of festive favourites.
Christmas at Delamere Forest runs from November 25 to December 31.
Amongst the new installations is Submergence, by UK-based collective Squidsoup, where visitors walk among strings of dangling lights in the undergrowth of the forest.
Firework Trees by ITHACA Studio shoot up the trunks of trees and through the branches, set to the soundtrack of exploding and swooshing fireworks.
The family-friendly trail also features the gorgeous Christmas Cathedral, enabling visitors to walk through a tunnel of more than 10,000 pea lights.
There are also traditional fairground rides to enjoy and don’t forget to glimpse Father Christmas along the way.
Matthew Findlay, head of UK trails for Sony Music/Raymond Gubbay Ltd, said: “We are hugely excited by the plans for this year’s trails, with artists creating beautiful, new installations which will provide even more ‘wow’ factor for 2022.”
Independent street food vendors bring delicious tasty treats at both Dunham Massey and Delamere Forest.
The trails are designed for visitors of all ages to enjoy.
