A FAMILY-RUN homecare provider has received a glowing CQC rating after just one year in business.

Eternity Care Services, based in Winsford, offers clients in both Winsford and Northwich care in their own homes, priding itself on helping people remain as independent as possible.

And the provider is unique in how it is run – it has three directors who are all family.

Rachel Cowley, her daughter Laura, and Laura’s partner Dean Jones all wanted to make a difference, drawing on years of experience from a variety of sectors.

Rachel said: “In my previous roles as a registered nurse, ward manager, matron and managing director, both within the NHS and a charitable organisation, I have witnessed first-hand the challenges the sector faces to support people to remain as independent in their own home, and the challenges to safely discharge patients with the correct amount of support.

“Therefore, having been made redundant, with my family we set up Eternity Care Services.”

Dean has more than 10 years’ experience in the professional services sector, while Laura has worked in the banking sector for 15 years.

Laura said: “We had our first clients in September 2021, and we’ve now had a ‘Good’ rating from the CQC and some really good feedback.

“We support our clients (across Winsford and Northwich) in the comfort of their own home, to help them remain as independent as possible.”

Speaking about what sets Eternity Care Services apart, Laura added: “We’re family-run and the experience that all three directors bring to the table, we believe, is unheard of.

“We’re only small, but we do have plans to grow.”

And part of that growth is encouraging more people to join the care sector, which Laura says is a challenge across the industry as a whole.

“There is a massive need for carers,” she explained.

“I think a lot of people think there is a stigma of saying you’re ‘just a carer’, but that’s not true – you’re helping people keep their independence in their own home.

“Rachel started as a health carer and that opened up so many avenues for her.”
