NORTHWICH musicians are among those involved in the release of unique new EP which started out as a remote collaboration during 2020.
Good Stock Records has announced the digital release of 'Remote' by The Goodstock Project - an EP bringing together remote, live performances which took place during the Covid-19 lockdown which have all been polished, audio-enhanced and made complete in this six-track release.
During lockdown 2020, The Goodstock Project was born.
A spokesperson explained: “The Goodstock Project is the codename for an experimental collaboration which started in the first lockdown of spring 2020.
“The idea was to prove whether it’s possible to record music without even being in the same room, recording weeks apart with each individual engineering their own track, with no overall strategy.
“To provide a bit of an added challenge and to increase the feeling of togetherness, despite being holed up separately, the recording of each person’s own part was also filmed (on nothing more sophisticated than a phone) so each could see the other at work, just as it would be in the rehearsal room.”
Vocalist June Holland and guitarist Paul Collins from Northwich were involved in the exciting project.
All of the original live parts were videoed by each band member and spliced together, however additional parts have since been written and recorded.
The EP ‘Remote’ is available now on Bandcamp, Spotify, Soundcloud, Amazon Music and Apple Music.
