A MAN has been charged in connection with a series of burglaries in Northwich town centre earlier this year.
Back in February, officers received reports of burglaries at businesses across the town.
The first incident occurred sometime between 6.40am and 7.40am on Saturday, February 19, when someone broke into a takeaway on Station Road and stole a quantity of cash.
Then, between 11.13pm Sunday, February 20 and 12.06am Monday, February 21, unknown offenders forced entry into the Care UK Charity Store on Chester Way and stole cash from the office.
The final two incidents were sometime on Tuesday, February 22 when a hairdressers and a clairvoyants, both based at the top of Witton Street, reported they had also been burgled.
Jonathan Heron, of HMP Stoke Heath, Market Drayton, has since been charged on suspicion of five counts of burglary other than a dwelling with intent to steal.
The 45-year-old has been remanded in custody and is set to appear at Chester Magistrates’ Court on Friday 28 October.
A second man who was arrested in relation to the burglaries has since been released without charge.
