TWO men have been arrested after a clever police dog uncovered a large quantity of what is believed to be cocaine hidden inside a Northwich property.
At around 10.30am on Thursday, October 6, officers from Northwich Local Policing Unit executed a warrant at an address on Runcorn Road, Barnton.
During the search, officers recovered a quantity of what are believed to be class A drugs (cocaine), drugs equipment and cash, with help from Police Dog Otis.
A spokesperson for Cheshire Police confirmed: “Two men, aged 19 and 26 from Halewood, Merseyside, were arrested at the address on suspicion of being concerned in the supply of class A drugs.
“Both men have been released under investigation pending further enquiries.”
Following the warrant, the Cheshire and North Wales Police Dog Unit tweeted: “PD Otis is on a roll.
“He assisted colleagues in Northwich with a house search and located a large quantity of class A drugs that had been concealed in a sneaky hiding place.”
