A CHARITY football match has raised more than £1,100 to help buy Christmas presents for children at Alder Hey Children’s Hospital.

The charity match kicked off on Sunday (October 9) at Witton Albion FC for The Matilda Foundation, organised by Sellebrity Soccer and played by a host of stars from TV and music.

The game took place to raise funds for a charity set up in memory of Matilda Cosgrove, who was tragically stillborn in June 2019.

Her parents, Mark and Stacie, wanted to do something for children being treated at Alder Hey, and after raising funds to buy Christmas presents, were determined to turn that into a permanent legacy.

The Matilda Foundation confirmed £1,116.18 was raised, thanks to the supporters who attended the game.
