A TEENAGER has been banned from driving and fined more than £400 for getting behind the wheel after taking laughing gas.

Aiden Ingham, of Blakemere Drive in Northwich, appeared in Crewe Magistrates’ Court on September 29 where he pleaded guilty to driving whilst unfit through drugs and without due care and attention in Winsford.

The incident took place on May 27 of this year.

The court heard the 18-year-old had been driving a Fiat Punto without due care on Pinewood Road after taking nitrous oxide – commonly known as laughing gas.

Magistrates disqualified the teenager from driving for 18 months and issued a £450 fine.

They also ordered for the forfeiture and destruction of a nitrous oxide canister.

Ingham must pay £120 in costs to the Crown Prosecution Service and a £45 surcharge.

The court took his guilty plea into account when imposing the sentence.
