A WINSFORD man has been banned from the roads for five years after driving while more than twice the legal drink-drive limit.
Martin King, of Regency Court, got behind the wheel of a Ford Fiesta in Crewe on August 17.
The 52-year-old gave a reading of 85 microgrammes of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath, exceeding the prescribed limit of 35 microgrammes.
King pleaded guilty to offence at Crewe Magistrates Court on September 27.
Taking this into account, magistrates disqualified him from driving for 60 months.
He will be subject to an electronically monitored curfew for 12 weeks, between the hours of 10pm and 7am Monday to Friday, and 7pm until 7am at the weekends.
King was also sentenced to a maximum of 20 rehabilitation activity requirement days and must pay costs of £120 and a £114 surcharge.
