POLICE in Winsford are investigating after another incident of criminal damage at the town’s multi-storey car park.

At around 4.30pm on Wednesday, September 21, a small group of youths damaged CCTV cameras in the Winsford Cross Shopping Centre multi-storey car park.

This comes just two months after two teenagers graffitied ‘racist slurs and swastikas’ on the car park on July 15.

A statement from Winsford Swanlow and Dene Police reads: “It has been reported that several of the new CCTV cameras have been damaged by a small number of youths.

“Fortunately, the cameras continued recording footage while they were being damaged, and this is currently being progressed for a positive outcome.

“If you have parental responsibility, please ensure you know where your children are, who they are with and what they are doing when out in the community.

“If you are looking for activities for your children to do at the weekends and in the evenings now the dark nights are drawing in, please look on the New Images, Lifestyle Centre and Cheshire West websites for what is on offer.”
