THE trial of a man charged with attempted murder outside a gym in Northwich has been pushed back until next year.
Samson Price, of Sefton Road in Wigan, was set to stand trial at Chester Crown Court today, Monday.
The trial will now take commence on January 30, 2023.
The 48-year-old denies attempting to murder a 20-year-old from Winsford on the evening of Thursday, September 23, 2021.
Police and paramedics were called to PureGym in Leicester Street shortly after 7pm after reports a man had been stabbed.
Price was arrested the following month and charged with attempted murder and possession of a bladed article in a public place.
Although he admits the second of those charges, he has denied the first.
His trial was originally due to take place back in May but was pushed back to September due to the defending counsel being involved in another serious case at Liverpool Crown Court.
The case is now being pushed back another four months.
