THE long-serving landlady at a Middlewich pub is excited to welcome back customers after an 'amazing' refurbishment.

An extensive makeover took place at The Vaults in Wheelock Street, which has seen both the exterior and interior of the pub redecorated.

Inside, the Red Oak Taverns-owned pub now boasts a new bar and product range, new flooring, new toilets, six large screens featuring Sky and BT sports and a dance floor.

Landlady Bev Bryning, who has run The Vaults since 2008, believes the pub now has something for everyone.

She said: "We are overjoyed at the refurbishment. The new bar and toilets are a complete transformation.

"The pub is one of two halves with the older crowd in the week and the younger ones at the weekend and it now has everything for all of them.

"It has been brilliant working with Red Oak Taverns. They took on board what I wanted with the refurbishment and the result is amazing."

The outside area of the pub has also been improved, with additional seating created and an external TV screen and lighting installed.

New furniture has also been added inside, with fixed seating and high tables brought in.

Red Oak Taverns declined to reveal how much was spent on the refurbishment, but the investment was enough to create two new jobs at the pub which already employs 11 people.

Business development manager for Red Oak Taverns, Barry Lee, said: “Bev has operated the pub since 2008 and she knew what the pub needed and what the customers wanted so together we were able to achieve a great renovation that will serve the local area for a long time in the future."

A spokeswoman for Red Oak Taverns, which owns more than 200 pubs across England, added the company continues to invest in its pub estate to ensure each venue has the right environment for its customers.
