Winsford Fire Station is opening its doors and welcoming the public today for their fun interactive open day.

The free event will take place at the station located on Sadler Road and will run from 11am through to 3pm with something for all ages to enjoy.

Some of the activities taking place throughout the day will include face painting, stalls, games, wall climbing and fire rescue demonstrations.

As well as a chance to take a closer look at the fire engines and the amazing equipment used.

A designated ‘quiet hour’ will take place between 10am and 11am to create a ‘calmer’ environment for individuals with sensory sensitivities, learning disabilities, ADHD or autism.

And during this time, noise will be reduced, and lighting will be limited to make for a more relaxing experience.

Members of the Winsford Fire Service said: “It is a great opportunity for people to come and learn more about the Service and the work we do”.

Visitors are asked to used parking around the town centre due to lack of parking on the site.

The event is one of many open days that Cheshire Fire and Rescue are running throughout the year, allowing people to meet and interact with members of the fire service who work tirelessly to protect their communities.

Northwich Fire Station will also host an open with a date and time yet to be confirmed.
