FAMILIES are being invited to tickle their tastebuds this weekend as a popular food festival returns to Cheshire.

Arley Hall will be the setting for the Great British Food Festival, taking place on September 24 and September 25.

More than 110 different traders will be in attendance, including artisan food producers and award-winning street food stalls.

Alongside the wonderful variety of food and drink on offer, there will be a line-up of local bands performing live music and chef demonstrations with MasterChef favourite Raheel Mirza.

There will also be foodie talks, 'man vs food' competitions and a bake stage with Great British Bake Off contestant Sandy Docherty.

Dan Maycock, one of the organisers, said: "We have got a great mix of local produce and best of British, coming from further afield.

"On the hot food front you will be able to try many international dishes, so hopefully something for all tastes!"

The Chef Demo stage hosts great local chefs and some Instagram stars cooking up their favourite dishes and sharing tips.

Each day the event hosts the 'Great British Cake Off', where amateur bakers compete head to head in two baking categories (see www.greatbritishfoodfestival.com for details and to enter), and if you enter a cake you get free entry to the festival.

There is entertainment for all the family over the weekend, including kid’s cookery lessons, free circus skills, and children’s rides.

Families are encouraged to bring a blanket and sit out for the day enjoying the food and drink, live music and beautiful surroundings. Tickets include access to the Arley Hall & Gardens.

See www.greatbritishfoodfestival.com for advanced tickets.
