TODAY is national fitness day – the most active day of the year!

Gyms and fitness instructors across mid Cheshire will be holding events throughout the day aimed at encouraging more people to enjoy the benefits of physical activity.

Organisers are hoping to inspire more children to take part this year with active mile walks or runs, where they can hop, skip or even jump their way around a one-mile course.

Earlier this year, nominations flooded in when we were searching for the Best Fitness Instructor and the Best Gym.

Sharon Power Fitness was crowned Best Fitness Instructor and Namix Performance Centre took home the Best Gym award.

Why not try a new class today or book a personal training session with one of the instructors?

Karen Rogers and the Fit For Life Mums team

Karen Rogers was a popular choice with dozens of nominations from satisfied customers.

She is based in Northwich and Knutsford and a member of the Fit For Life Mums team which is a “fantastic way to keep fit while enjoying the fresh air outdoors”.

Theresa Candy at Fabb Fitness, Northwich

The support Theresa Candy provided her clients with during lockdown was one of the reasons she made the shortlist.

She has continued with online classes for anyone who doesn’t feel ready to return to face to face classes.

One nomination said: “It’s a killer but fun boot camp that can be adjusted for all abilities and Theresa inspires me to better myself as her classes have improved my mental wellbeing.”
