NEW images have been published of a new drive-thru coffee shop in Winsford.

It was revealed in July that coffee shop chain Costa would be opening the new store as part of the wider £21m town centre redevelopment.

The coffee giant will be opening a 1,800 sq ft branch, which will include outdoor seating and a drive-thru at the corner of Dene Drive and the A54.

New signage designs approved by council planning officers illustrate the outside look of the drive-thru. The approved plans include 10 advertising displays  along with signs and illuminated menus.

The scheme is part of a major redevelopment of the town centre which also include the addition of the new B&M retail unit and garden centre, new restaurants, better parking facilities including EV provision and a new public square which will be the new home for the town's relocated war memorials.

The council said the redevelopment of the town centre will be undertaken in phases and details on future phases will be released at a later date.

Cheshire West and Chester Council bought Winsford Cross Shopping Centre in November 2018. In addition to investing £11m of council funding, it has secured £9.98m from the Government's Future High Street Fund to pay for the scheme.

Speaking previously, Cllr Richard Beacham, cabinet member for Inclusive growth, economy and regeneration, said: "The council's vision for Winsford town centre is to mix quality local businesses with popular high street brands.

"This decision by Costa to invest in the town is further evidence that it is becoming more attractive to a wide range of businesses. I'm sure Costa will be a great addition."

Speaking at the initial announcement of Costa's plans, Susan Agnew, acquisition manager at the coffee giant, added : “Costa are delighted to be part of this redevelopment and the upgrading of Winsford town centre.“
