A NUMBER of drivers in Northwich and Winsford have been banned from the roads after being caught over the limit for drink and drugs.

Alexandria Holt and Lorna Read, of Northwich, and James Heslop, of Winsford, appeared at Chester Magistrates Court this week where they pleaded guilty to motoring offences.

Read, of Beaufort Close, Hartford, was caught in Castle Street on April 26 earlier this year.

She was found to have 4.6 microgrammes of Delta-9-tetrahydrocannabinol - a constituent of cannabis - per litre of her blood, against the legal limit of two microgrammes.

Taking the 53-year-old's guilty plea into account, magistrates disqualified her from driving for 12 months and fined her £120 at her hearing on September 13.

Read was also ordered to pay £120 in court costs and a victim surcharge of £34.

Heslop, of Fairoak Close, Winsford, was caught drink-driving in Grange Lane on August 25.

The 21-year-old had 47 microgrammes of alcohol per 100 millilitres of breath. The legal limit is 35 microgrammes.

On September 13, magistrates banned him from driving for 12 months and fined him £120 after taking his guilty plea into account.

Heslop must also pay £120 in court costs and a surcharge of £48.

Holt, of Plumbs Fold, Barnton, was caught drink-driving in Chester Way, Northwich, on May 22.

The 34-year-old was found with 55 microgrammes of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath.

Holt changed her plea to guilty at her hearing on September 14 and so magistrates fined her £430.

She was banned from driving for 12 months and was also ordered to pay £500 in court costs as well as a £43 surcharge.
