A MOTORBIKE project which delivers food to those in need has launched a fundraising campaign for a new van and trailer.
Based in Winsford, Ride to Raise was started by a group of bikers keen to help others.
And to allow them to help even more people, they plan to purchase a second-hand van and trailer and have created an online fundraising page to help with the cost.
The project delivers food, drinks, and care packages to people struggling on the street and in shelters, as well as distribution centres and foodbanks.
They also offer motorcycle social clubs and adventure experiences to bring people together, form new friendships and combat loneliness.
A spokesperson said: “Our goal is to improve people’s well-being, safety, mental health and to create an environment for those in the community who are lonely, vulnerable, and suffering with mental health issues.
“By helping others in our community, we can also strengthen our own sense of belonging and connection.
“The addition of a support vehicle and trailer will significantly improve the number of people that Ride to Raise Cheshire CIC can help and increase the efficiency of the distribution work and the safety of the adventure experiences for all participants.”
As well as the online fundraising campaign, the group is having a fundraising event on September 24 at The Ye Olde No 3, Lymm, including a ride out, raffle, food, live music and camping is also available.
Details can be found on the group’s Facebook page and website.
The crowdfunding campaign will end on December 6.
