A MAN and a woman were seriously injured in a crash involving four cars on the M6.

The collision happened on the northbound carriageway between junction 18 and 19 shortly after midday on Tuesday, September 13.

The two casualties were treated at the roadside by firefighters until paramedics arrived

A spokesman for North West Ambulance Service NHS Trust said: “We have taken a man and woman to the hospital to be treated for major trauma.”

Fire engines from Alsager, Sandbach, Lymm and Macclesfield attended the incident.
