HERE is everything you need to know about the various proclamations taking place in Cheshire marking the accession of King Charles III.

Cheshire East Council will hold its official proclamation announcing the succession of King Charles III tomorrow, Sunday, at 3pm at Westfields, Sandbach.

The proclamation at will be led by the Mayor of Cheshire East, councillor David Marren, accompanied by the chief executive, Dr Lorraine O’Donnell and the Archdeacon of Macclesfield, The Venerable Ian Bishop, who will lead a short service commemorating the life of Her Majesty the late Queen Elizabeth II.

Cheshire West and Chester Council’s proclamation will be read at Chester Town Hall by the High Sheriff at 1pm on Sunday.

The barrier outside Chester Town Hall will be closed for vehicles from 10.30am until the completion of the proclamation event.

Trinity Street will also be closed during this time period, as well as Hamilton Place from the junction with Crook Street.

Residents can expect to see the Union Flag, currently at half-mast on all council buildings, raised to full mast for these events.

Flags will then be lowered again for the period of mourning.

The King has stated that a period of mourning will continue for seven days following the funeral of the late Queen.

Town and parish councils will hold their individual proclamations at a later time and members of the public are invited to attend all events.

Knutsford Town Council’s proclamation will take place on Sunday afternoon at 4pm, led by the town mayor at the steps of the council offices in Toft Road.

The chairman of Wilmslow Town Council will be making the proclamation at Memorial Gardens in Chancel Lane at 4pm.

Middlewich Town Council’s event will be led by the mayor at the Bull Ring, also at 4pm tomorrow.

Northwich’s mayor will read the proclamation on the steps outside Northwich Memorial Court at 3pm tomorrow, Sunday.

The Winsford proclamation will also take place at 3pm, outside Wyvern House.
