FIREFIGHTERS were called to help rescue a man from the River Weaver in Northwich last night, Monday.
At 9.45pm, six fire crews were called to Walting Street where the casualty was in the water.
Crews included Northwich, Lymm (including a rope rescue team), Penketh, Widnes, Congleton and Warrington.
A spokesperson for Cheshire Fire and Rescue Service confirmed: “Swift water rescue firefighters rescued a casualty from the water in Northwich.
“Two swift water rescue technicians entered the water with a raft and were able to reach him with a throwline.
“He was taken to the bank and handed into the care of ambulance staff.”
