A MAN stole more than £400 worth of fuel from various petrol stations in Cheshire between May and August this year.

Jack Kelly-Bayliss, of Gladstone Street in Winsford, made off from petrol stations in Winsford, Northwich and Crewe without paying seven times in the space of just two months.

The 21-year-old pleaded guilty to all charges at Chester Magistrates’ Court on August 31, as well as to one count of driving with no insurance.

Kelly-Bayliss’ crime spree began on May 18 when he made off from a petrol station on Beswick Drive in Crewe without paying for £40 of diesel.

On May 27, he repeated the crime at a station on Delamere Street, Winsford, stealing £95.40 of diesel.

Kelly-Bayliss targeted this premises on four more occasions – stealing £49.59 of fuel on July 25, £83.50 on August 5, £82.50 on August 7 and £52.50 on August 12.

He also targeted a petrol station in London Road, Davenham, Northwich, two weeks later, when he left without paying for £50.02 of diesel.

As well as the fuel thefts, Chester Magistrates’ Court heard Kelly-Bayliss was caught driving a BMW along Delamere Rise in Winsford on August 12 without insurance.

After admitting all offences, he will now return to the same court on September 28 to be sentenced, after a pre-sentence report has been prepared by the probation service.
